Update of our projects on the move made by Martin's Map....It's about time

RAY ROBERTS LAKE-Texas

Roberts has been out for publication since 3/1/04. We are pleased to report that it is four years of exhaustive research and has turned out to be the best map ever of Lake Ray Roberts. The map is detail via the extreme. The map has hundreds of details such as humps, ridges, rock piles, cut-in banks, ponds, dams, corrals, drop off's, brush piles, submerged auto's, concrete foundations, boulder piles, culverts, trees with exposed roots, long extended points, fence lines, tree lines and etc. etc. If you liked our Lake Fork map you will be happy to hear that this map is more detailed than the Fork map is. The key to this was the fact that the lake level dropped to 16.5 feet. When this happened we took full advantage of the low lake level and took over 2000 still shot images and hours of video footage. The result is a map that defines the word "Super Map". Let the pictures below wet your whistle....they speak for themselves.

Buck Creek-This is a point that is identified on the new Ray Roberts map. This picture shows this extended underwater point on the right. This picture shows the point at approx. 12 feet below normal pool elevation. It is located east of the Hwy 377 bridge. Notice the fence line that runs down the middle of the point. The cut to the left of the point is a road bed. This is just one of hundreds of points that we identify on our new map. This is a perfect ambush point for bass.

Ray Roberts-aerial photos

We currently have a collection of aerial photo's available for those who just can't wait for the Robert's CD. These are just aerial photos of the lake taken from a high altitude. They are a collection of government photo's and they come with some free software that will allow you to view, zoom, print and actually allow you to determine coordinates and distances. The pictures were taken at full pool elevation so don't expect to see contour information on them. The software allows you to mosaic all of them at one time. Other Texas lakes are available as well (see below). They are listed on our web site under aerial photos.Buy Ray Roberts Aerial Photo's

The Ray Roberts

Val Halla is the Norse word for Heaven. This concrete fish hump-ground (shown without the water) above is nothing short of heaven for anglers. I would guess that when anglers die they get to go to a spot like this. This spot on Ray Roberts now sits under 12 to 14 foot of water. The slab in the foreground is an old concrete house pad. There are two concrete sidewalks that follow from the foreground slab back toward the other three foundations near the fence line. These foundations each vary in height by about one foot each. The slab to the right is the highest in elevation of the three foundations near the fence. The last slab to the left drops off into a trash pile and then this drops off into the creek channel. The tree laden fence line directly in the rear makes this all complete as a big bass haven. Our map identifies this area and the GPS grid on it allows you to drive directly to it. Get your copy now while the fish are biting.

One Great Hump-located in the Big Boot Oil Field area. This is a rise in elevation where there is nothing but flat land. A small creek leads directly to this one. This is one of many scattered throughout the Roberts Lake area. When you lose your lake grass you have to go back to fishing structure and here's an excellent example of what you look for. This fish attracting spot is also identified and located on our new map.....one of many.
